On the 16th and 17th of January 2025, G.E. Palade UMPhST of Târgu Mureş, via the European Security and Countering Disinformation Excellence Centre, will be organising the „Resilient Multicultural Societies in the Face of Hybrid Threats” International Conference, bringing together more than 50 researchers from 9 countries: Romania, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Estonia, Poland, China, Moldova, Georgia, Tunisia, and Algeria.The event will convene prominent European security experts, researchers, and high-profile policymakers to address the current challenges facing modern societies and provide innovative solutions to enhance European resilience and security.There are three main themes for the conference programme: “Hybrid Threats, Disinformation, and Political Systems in Historical and Global Contexts”, “Resilience in Multicultural Societies Through Institutional Strength”, and “EU Policies, International Cooperation, and Institutional Resilience”.This wide-ranging event provides a platform where experts can discuss and exchange ideas, helping to identify viable solutions to the complex challenges of European security in the current global context.The event is part of activities carried out within the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Security and Combating Disinformation in Multicultural Societies project, a project implemented by G.E. Palade UMPhST of Târgu Mureş and co-funded by the European Union.

Nicolae Iorga, nr. 1), a evenimentului de lansare a cărții ”Redefining European Security in a Post COVID-19 World”, autor conf. univ. dr. Mihaela Daciana Natea, și a dezbaterii „Acțiunea Jean Monnet, 35 de ani de existență”.
Volumul ”Redefining European Security in a Post COVID-19 World” tratează subiecte precum securitate europeană, reziliență, dezinformare și modul în care educația și cercetare pot contribui la creșterea securității României și a Europei.
Acțiunea Jean Monnet, o linie de finanțare destinată studiilor europene și realizările ei, aniversează 35 de ani de activitate. Dezbaterea va reprezenta un bun prilej pentru invitați de a discuta despre oportunitățile oferite și importanța acțiunii.

Mihaela Daciana Natea, și la dezbaterea „Impactul dezinformării asupra alegerilor din Republica Moldova și Georgia”
Accesul oamenilor la informație îi ajută să ia decizii bune și asumate. Pandemia a arătat că dezinformarea joacă un rol major în luarea deciziilor în context politic. Cartea prezintă efectele dezinformării, inclusiv în ceea ce privește războiul din Ucraina, și subliniază nevoia unei abordări multidisciplinare în ceea ce privește combaterea acestui fenomen.
Evenimentele vor avea loc în Aula Magna (str. Nicolae Iorga, nr. 1) și se desfășoară în cadrul Proiectului Jean Monnet Center of Excellence in European Security and Disinformation in Multicultural Societies Implementat de UMFST și cofinanțat de UE prin actiunea Jean Monnet.

The objective of the competition is to help shape the European Identity starting from a local tradition, monument or event. The competition has three sections: essay, photography and video. The best piece in each category will receive a prize. The purpose is to make the young participants aware of the European dimension of the local heritage.
The competition was be launched in March and the submission deadline is June 25th.

In perioada 4-6 septembrie 2023, la București, se va desfășura Școala de vară: „Securitatea europeană și comunitățile multiculturale” (Summer School: „European Security and Multicultural Societies”). Școala de vară este o platformă de dezbatere între specialiști și urmărește identificarea principalelor schimbări care au avut loc în mediul de securitate la nivel european și modul în care acestea influențează comunitățile multiculturale. La eveniment participă oameni politici, academicieni, profesori universitari, cercetători din țară precum și din străinătate. În cadrul evenimentului se vor organiza vizite de studiu la instituții de profil.
Școala de vară este organizată de Universitatea de Medicină, Farmacie, Științe și Tehnologie George Emil Palade din Târgu Mureș, prin Jean Monnet Center of Excellence in European Security and Disinformation in Multicultural Societies înființat prin Proiectul european Jean Monnet- ESDMS în parteneriat cu Universitatea din București.
